Join us while we climb the Munros Ben Cruachan (aka The Hollow Mountain), Stob Daimh and Corbett Beinn a'Bhuiridh completing the horseshoe. A classic route taking in a fine traverse around this jagged skyline high above Cruachan Reservoir offering some of the finest views in the southern Highlands.

About the event

This is a day out for those with an intermediate > advanced fitness level.


Meeting point for this day is the layby by the A85, access to the Falls of Cruachan train station just before the Cruachan Dam Visitor Centre when approaching from the south.


From here we climb up through a mixed native woodland before joining the access track leading us to the impressive Cruachan dam. Re-gaining the access the track we take the pleasant stroll along the waters edge with plenty opportunity to discuss the origins of Ben Cruachan alias of The Hollow Mountain. Soon back in to climb mode and we push up on to the southern shoulder then the final push for the summit of Ben Cruachan, here we should be offered some mighty views, inland to neighbouring peaks our out across the sea and islands.
