Data Protection and our commitment to GDPR

At The Saltire Mountaineering Company we maintain the privacy of all data and will not share personal information with any third parties.  The information we hold will only be used so we can ensure our clients safety in the environments for which we operate.  We may use it to contact our clients but only in respect of specific events for which they have committed to through the return of a booking form.

We operate in accordance with the 7 principles of GDPR, those being:

  1. Lawfulness, Fairness, and Transparency: All personal data will be processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently.

  2. Purpose Limitation: Data should only be collected for specified, legitimate purposes and not further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes.

  3. Data Minimisation: Only the data necessary for the purposes of processing will be collected.

  4. Accuracy: Personal data must be accurate and kept up to date; every reasonable step must be taken to ensure that inaccurate data is rectified or deleted.

  5. Storage Limitation: Personal data should be kept in a form which permits identification of data subjects for no longer than necessary.

  6. Integrity and Confidentiality: Data must be processed securely to protect against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage.

  7. Accountability: The proprietor of The Saltire Mountaineering Company will act as the Data Controller and therefore holds responsibility for and able to demonstrate compliance with principles 1-6.
