With parents who were deeply rooted into the great outdoors, a father being a 1970's Alpinist, it was inevitable any spare time would be spent wandering in the mountains from an early age.  He remembers well the days out before the internet existed, it was not unusual to be told it is just over the next top in challenging conditions of wind, rain and cloud before returning to the camp-site to be told it's going to be wet today as father read the days newspaper :-)

Studying Sports Coaching upon leaving school in the mid-90's with a view to becoming an Outdoor Instructor, a sguiggly career path led him into an office/home based environment for where he continues to work today as a Client Manager with clients of a corporate nature, keeping them, their company and assets well informed, safe and secure.

A somewhat unusual encounter put him back on the trail of becoming qualified to offer the same experiences to the general public.  Approached by a charity requesting he get involved in their 'Bag a Munro in May' initiative, rather than ask for sponsorship for something that was done virtually every weekend, a different approach was taken in seeking fundraisers to raise a specified amount before leading them up The Inaccessible Pinnacle.  Feedback from a well known group raised awareness of Mountain Training and their qualifications.  Enrolling for their Mountain Leader training program the following year, passing assessment early the next summer before completing his Winter Mountain Leader training the year after.

Through a strong desire to share similar experiences of visiting our country's more pristine places he has also been qualified as an adventurous activity permit holder through The Scout Association for several years, leading young people and has done so on some of our more popular peaks such as Ben Nevis, Ben Macdui, Ben Lomond and Schiehallion.

Today we look forward to you joining us on one of our group events or a bespoke private experience, take a look at our Upcoming Events or Private Bookings.  We discuss and share the whole planning journey from initial inception, weather forecasting, risk assessments, equipment, through to equipping you with the necessary hills-skills such as traditional navigational methods whilst we tackle the days headline objective, reaching that summit.  We are bold, we are unique, we are here to lead you towards leading your own journeys.

Our ethos, values and principles are simple; we prioritise our clients at every step and always act with integrity with full due-diligence around safety and well-being.

Keeping in line with our own philosophy towards personal development and future learning we will push you to that next level but always in a safe and controlled manner.  We have ambition for further growth, a vision to offer additional activities in the future including those in winter and in more technical terrain.  We hope you have similar ambition and join us on an adventure where you too can progress to that next level acquiring the skills, knowledge and confidence to do so.

We support conservation efforts, for every client we will donate up to 25% of course fees to Mountaineering Scotland and the Outdoor Access Trust for Scotland's It's Up to Us campaign, an initiative to repair and maintain informal mountain paths to protect our fragile mountainous habitats.  We always promote car sharing where possible.  Acknowledging our activities take us to serene places, mileage and therefore our environmental impact soon mounts up if left unchecked.  We also support local business and encourage our clients to visit leading Scottish designer, manufacturer and retailer of outdoor clothing Keela where a 20% discount is offered.
